We advise sowing Yellow Rattle in Autumn as it needs frost to germinate.
Yellow rattle is an annual, low growing wildflower often included in wildflower seed mixtures to keep grass growth under control. It is a hemiparasite, meaning that it attaches itself to the root system of numerous different grass species and slows down their growth rate, giving a better opportunity for other wildflower species to thrive.
Yellow Rattle is included in our Butterfly and Bee 100% Wildflower Seed Mix and our Traditional Irish Native Wildflower Mix
